Introduction
|
Electronic systems regularly use complex digital devices for which software models written in Verilog, VHDL or C are not available. There are also many cases where full-functional models are available, but are too slow to simulate large portions of the design. For designs that use complex microprocessors, engineers would like to execute embedded system software running on the simulated hardware. This process, known as HW/SW co-verification, requires fast, accurate models of complex chips for it to be effective and its benefits to be realized.
