Dr. John Sanguinetti to Join Simpod Board
Dr. John Sanguinetti, Chronologic Simulation Founder, Joins Simpod Board of Directors Santa Clara, California - March 1, 1999 - Simpod, Inc. announced today that Dr. John Sanguinetti has joined the Company's board of directors. Dr. Sanguinetti is the former founder of Chronologic Simulation, the company that created the electronic design automation (EDA) industry's fastest Verilog simulator, VCS. Dr. Sanguinetti is currently active in the design automation community and serves as a board member on other emerging high technology startups. "We welcome Dr. Sanguinetti to the board, and look forward to tapping into his wealth of understanding and expertise in solving the challenges of design and verification of complex system development," said Richard Curtin, CEO of Simpod. "Simpod is expanding its recently patented modeling technology to enable the rapid development of embedded systems and system-on-chip (SOC) designs. Dr. Sanguinetti will provide valuable guidance to our management team as we grow the company to the next level." Dr. Sanguinetti received his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan's Department of Computer Science in 1977, specializing in operating system design. He was a performance analyst and computer architect for Digital Equipment, Amdahl, Elxsi, Ardent and NeXT. He was also the design verification manager for Ardent and NeXT, which were recognized as leaders in multi-level system simulation using Verilog. This experience led him to found Chronologic Simulation in 1992, which pioneered the use of compiled code simulation in the company's VCS simulator. Today, VCS is recognized as the leading simulator in the market. "Simpod technology has the potential to be a vital ingredient in development and verification systems for both hardware and software teams looking to deliver products in a timely manner," said Dr. Sanguinetti. "I see great opportunity for Simpod in this area and am excited to be involved with this emerging company."
